Why are so many of us not successful at leading a happy, fulfilling and beautiful life and how can that be changed ?  No one would ever do anything on purpose to make themselves feel bad or worse. Never. But how come we end up harming ourselves, engaging in destructive behaviour, not following through on the things we really want to create in our lives?

Habits rule our life.

We do many things - about 95% - habitually and unconsciously. We think the same thoughts, feel the same feelings and do the same things - mainly in the same way - day in and day out. Anything else would overwhelm our system, and we probably wouldn't be able to cope with reality. Basically, there is nothing wrong with habits.

The problem is that we picked up most of these habits a long, long time ago. Many came about in the early years of life through our upbringing, imprinting, and early childhood experiences. Some habits still contribute to our well-being today and make perfect sense. For example, I learned early on to brush my teeth regularly. I will continue to do so regularly to keep my teeth healthy for as long as possible. Other habits are less obvious and have a more significant impact on my well-being than brushing my teeth. The way we deal with criticism, the way we react to authorities, the way we talk to ourselves, etc. Our eating and exercise habits also significantly influence us. I smoked like a chimney, turned night into day, drank alcohol regularly, went on a thousand diets, exercised excessively, and much more. They were used to numb bad feelings and have served their purpose. Although I wasn't aware of that at the time.

My work and heart aim at resolving the one central question that has intrigued me since I was a little girl:

about

Some are easy to change, and others can be tricky, but it can be done. What definitely helps is the right strategy and a sincere and loving approach to ourselves, which can sometimes be the biggest challenge. Changing patterns and habits is a lifelong task, and I'll never be done.

My aim is to inspire and support you to get to the bottom of yourself. I want to encourage you to curiously explore which recurring problems and situations are caused by which habits. You can make conscious choices when you become aware of how you create things. You can continue as before, or you can make a new decision and integrate beautiful habits into your everyday life.  I will share the beautiful habits I have tried so far and found to be good with you here. However, they should only serve as an inspiration and should not be understood as a recommendation.

There are no patent recipes or "one-fits-all" solutions. My concern is to create awareness that change is necessary and possible, even at a very deep level. I'll show you examples of how easy it can be, and I know that sometimes it's just difficult and painful. What may help in those situations is to see that you're not alone with your issues and challenges and that others feel the same way.

the good news is: habits can be changed.

I have never lacked motivation or ambition in my life. I have always had big goals and great ideas, but for some reason I did not have the energy to follow through. Does that sound familiar? In relationships I always ended on the same path - no matter how different my partners seemed to be in the beginning.
My relationship with money was one of scarcity and self doubt. No matter how much or how little money I had - it was never enough.
I have long struggled feeling good and confident in my body. I have a 12 year history of a quite severe eating disorder combined with other not so healthy habits such as smoking, over - exercising etc.

Looking back at those many years of constant struggle, I wish I had understood long ago, that there is no shortcut and no easy way to any kind of personal development.

The only way that has worked for me - in all areas of my life - were those three steps:
• To get to know myself on a deeper level
• To find out what I really want and why ( this is the hardest part)
• To make myself do little steps towards my desired outcome on a consistent basis.

Or as Oprah Winfrey put it: "You can have it all - just not all at once"

Motivation is what gets you started - Habits are what keeps you going.
